Spiritual Practices: Scripture (Lectio Divina)

  • Copper Hills Church 27035 Black Rock Boulevard Peoria, AZ, 85383 United States (map)

God's Word is water for the thirsty and food for the hungry (Isaiah 55:10-13).

But often, we can feel spiritually dry and unsatisfied while we read the Bible. How can we experience the library of Scripture as a formative story that shapes us for kingdom living centered in the good news of Jesus?

The answer comes as we read the Bible for transformation rather than information.

Come discover the historic practice of Lectio Divina: slowing down to Read, Meditate, Pray, and Contemplate on a text of Scripture to hear God's voice speaking to us today. Digest God's truth from head to heart to mouth to gut.

Join us in this session to receive practical teaching and helpful tools for a spiritual reading of Scripture. Experience the Bible as the God-breathed, Spirit-inspired, Jesus-centered story that cuts our hearts and equips us to live in the kingdom today (2 Tim 3:15-16; Heb 4:12-13).

Sessions are designed for participants aged 11th grade and older. Lunch will be provided.
